Aging in Place
If you spend the time, money, and energy on building your dream home, chances are you’ll want to stay there for many years to come.
BAM Builders is excited to be hard at work on another worthy project with Operation Finally Home. In December ’24, we surprised a local veteran by breaking ground on a personalized, mortgage-free home for him and his family.
Operation Finally Home is a national non-profit that, with the help of local partners, provides mortgage-free homes, home modifications and transitional housing to wounded, ill and injured military veterans, first responders and their families.
The home currently underway in Lorena is for US Army Specialist Jakob Spraggins. Jakob enlisted in 2010 and served as a paratrooper with his squadron, Bravo Troop 3/73 1st BCT of the 82nd Airborne. He garnered multiple awards for his service but his deployment to Afghanistan and experiences took a toll on him and he was medically discharged in 2015.
The new home we are building will go to Jakob and his two daughters who love family game night and enjoying the outdoors together.
This isn’t BAM Builders’ first Operation Finally Home project. We helped build a home for the Lincoln family, who lost their home to a fire. We can’t describe how it felt to see the Lincolns’ joy in receiving their new home.
We took on another project because we love giving back to our community. And we especially love giving back to veterans through Operation Finally Home.
“Doing something like this is minute compared to what they have done for us,” our superintendent Derek Rebber told KWTX.

Building a custom home allows you to design a space tailored to your lifestyle, preferences, and long-term goals.
On March 27, 2025, we participated in Notes of Love with Operation Finally Home at the Spraggins family’s future house.
