Operation Finally Home and community supporters for a meaningful and emotional milestone — the dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony for the Spraggins family’s new home. This celebration marked the completion of a journey rooted in gratitude, service, and community support.
Operation Finally Home is a national non-profit that, with the help of local partners, provides mortgage-free homes, home modifications and transitional housing to wounded, ill and injured military veterans, first responders and their families.
Jakob Spraggins enlisted in 2010 and served as a paratrooper with his squadron, Bravo Troop 3/73 1st BCT of the 82nd Airborne. He garnered multiple awards for his service, but his deployment to Afghanistan and experiences took a toll on him, and he was medically discharged in 2015.
After months of planning, building, and collaboration, the Spraggins family officially stepped into a place they can now call home — a home built with intention, care, and appreciation.
From the groundbreaking ceremony to the heartfelt Notes of Love event, every phase of construction reflected a shared commitment to honoring service and strengthening family foundations.
The dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony brought together family, friends, neighbors, and partners to celebrate the completion of the home and the beginning of a new chapter for the Spraggins family. Surrounded by those who helped make this project possible, the atmosphere was filled with pride, joy, and gratitude.
Speakers from BAM Builders and Operation Finally Home shared reflections on the journey, highlighting the teamwork, generosity, and heart behind the project. The ribbon cutting symbolized more than the completion of construction — it represented a fresh start and a future built on hope.
One of the most powerful moments of the day came when the Spraggins family was presented with the keys to their home. With smiles and appreciation, they officially crossed the threshold into a space built just for them — a place to create memories, find rest, and grow together.
