Design Details from BAM Designer/Selections Coordinator, Mari Price

This home began with a floor plan conceptualized meticulously by our builder Jonathan Barrow. When we envisioned the 3,422 sq foot home, we knew it had to be bold yet timeless.

Exterior

Chosen for their superior quality and performance and their modern home design, you will find Dual Pane Low-E SmartSun windows in black exterior/white interior. You can expect optimal energy performance and comfort with the low-emissive glass that reflects heat in the summer and helps keep heat inside in the winter.

I was inspired by this stone, and our vision started taking shape for the moody modern “lodge” we have today with this Granbury mix stone. It was selected for its neutral and organic shapes. It gives a dark exterior contrast while maintaining an earthy feel.

The purpose of the dark exterior was to give the stone some contrast and emphasize its beauty; it also gives it that “moody” feel without going black. All exterior doors, trim, and soffits were kept black to keep cohesive with the windows while keeping it modern.

Our paint brand is Kelly-Moore. It was chosen for its high quality and special formulation to withstand the elements of Texas weather. Kelly-Moore’s Hurst Manufacturing facility won the 2022 Texas Environmental Excellence Award for Pollution Prevention, earned based on their innovative approach to the significant reduction in wash water to landfill, which is worth supporting!

Interior Paint

This color story was curated to be bold and modern but timeless. The colors were kept neutral enough to be able to be designed around many styles for future homeowners. On the walls, we used a low sheen finish against a semi-gloss finish on the trim and doors. This is a more modern approach to create texture and subtle contrast.

Appliances: Ferguson/ Jenn-Air Rise

Having top-of-the-line appliances that met aesthetics, quality, and functionality was an important factor to showcase in this home. For this reason, we selected Jenn-Air. We chose the rise line for its high-end modern look that will have any homeowner wanting to cook and entertain.

Countertops: DesignCo

We knew the kitchen and primary bath had to be something bold and unconventional. In collaboration with Alex Garza and Daniel Flynn at DesignCo, we worked together to find the perfect one.

Displayed, you will find a Cambria quartz slab in Delaware along the countertops and up the backsplash, making this kitchen its own statement. Quartz is a perfect choice in a kitchen; it is a harder material that isn’t porous, making will last years to come.

The primary bath features a Cambria quartz countertop in Berkshire Brass. It was the perfect choice to accentuate the sophistication and edginess of this primary bath. The gold veining detail ties in with the plumbing fixtures perfectly.

Portinary marble is seen in the utility and both upstairs bathrooms.

Portinary marble slabs originate in Brazil. It is very dramatic and dynamic. The white grays with brown and black swirls create high movement in the marble, creating a statement and adding another earthy element to this home.

Flooring: DesignCo

Purposefully we have a variety of flooring choices throughout the home. In collaboration with Alex Garza and Daniel Flynn, we brainstormed and selected unique carpets to give each space a unique touch.

The kid’s den we thoughtfully curated to become a hangout space but no reason it should lack in design. For this reason, we selected Anderson Tuftex in Blackjack, creating a statement in its geometric pattern. Along with the kid’s den, we continued Andersen Tuftex carpet in the primary closet, and along with the geometric shapes, we selected this high-performance carpet in Durango. In the bedrooms, you will find Shaw Floors high-performance carpet You Got This in Ashes.

Bath 2 and 3 showcase Bedrosians tile in Allora. To keep the clean lines and modern aesthetic, we played with the stacking layout.

The primary bath had to be bold! Displayed is MSI Regallo Marquina in a 24×24 diamond pattern. The element of surprise here was when we decided to take the tile to the ceiling, adding an extra design touch to this primary bath.

Flooring throughout the main house is Coretec Cairo wide plank lvp. The Coretec Pro Plus Enhanced Collection was chosen for its durability, wood-like look, and its featured patented technology that makes this LVP 100% waterproof. The Pro Plus XL Enhanced collection features extra-long planks for a grand sense of scale. The light shade brings in contrast against the dark walls while adding warmth to the space.

Plumbing Fixtures: Kohler

We wanted to display modern yet quality fixtures throughout this home. We used Kohler for our plumbing fixtures though out the home. Kohler is known for Their craftsmanship, design and innovation, which aligned with our vision for this home.

This kitchen is meant to cook and entertain. For this reason, you will find a 34” Kohler single basin sink from the Cairn Collection in a matte black finish to pair beautifully with the countertops. It is also composed of a composite material designed for extreme durability.

The kitchen and pot filler are from Kohler as well. Displayed is the artifacts collection in modern brass. These faucets bring in a little touch of classic tradition, and the finish in gold pops against the counters and backsplash tying in with the gold in the remainder of the home.

The Primary bath features the occasion collection in vibrant brushed modern brass and matte black. This line is modern yet luxurious, which any primary bath deserves! The gold finish was intended to be the show stopper against the tile.

In baths 2, 3, and 4, you can find the Purist collection. A popular selection, and rightfully so, because of its beautiful simplicity. The clean lines of the purist collection give these baths a modern touch.

The Utility faucet gives a fresh take on the classic bridge faucet, giving the utility room an elegant – yet informal style tying the classic touch found in the kitchen.

Lighting: DesignCo

Lighting was carefully selected by DesignCo’s lighting specialist. To make everything cohesive, we selected black and gold finishes throughout the homes.
